Seasonal garden campsites and Grand Detour Fall Pumpkin festival 2011 |

A seasonal campsite and garden site on
Andrus island will in addition to a waterfront campsites, allow the
seasonal camper to have access to a 50 foot by 50 foot garden plot which
will be tilled by the campground at the start of the season.
Campers will be able to draw water for their garden from the river.
Regular seasonal sites with no electric on Andrus are $900 and for all
people who sign up for a seasonal site prior to December 31, 2010, their
garden plot will only cost an additional $100 for 2011. After
December, garden plots will be $250 per season.
Starting September 15, 2011 the campground will be open 7 days a week for families to pick their pumpkins. The North end of Andrus will be the pumpkin patch for 2011. Thirty acres will be tilled in 2011 for gardens, pumpkins, and gourds on Andrus Island. Weekends after September 15th will have hayrides, hot apple cider, and Indian corn available for seasonal decorations and kids picking their pumpkins from the field. Partial day entry fees will apply for early entry, with pumpkin picking closing at dark on weekends. |
